Eyes on the road

I took this photo of an ad on the side of a bus today. I wanted to show a friend at work because we often joke about her driving directions. Instead of using road names she always tries to direct me based on landmarks or shops along the side of the road. "You know when you get to the set of lights and there's a pizza shop on the corner? Turn right there" she'd say.

It seems she's not the only one that gets around this way. Navman's latest maps use this landmark navigation now too.

  1. I remember interviewing a reseracher from University of Melbourne about this. Here is the source. http://visions.unimelb.edu.au/episode/67
